We organized an NFT meetup in Taipei. The goal was to meet more creators, developers, and enthusiasts in the space, I ended up making over 70 new friends.
Idea:
Host a social that doubled as a gallery. However instead of displaying the top NFTs that everyone’s already seen, we featured NFTs from the attendees own collections.
Setup:
I met Harrison, the founder of Taiwan Code Camp, and David, founder of Timeless, and in a week we decided to host and throw, an NFT event. We went through a couple different ideations, from a cozy workshop, to coffee and chat, to eventually this large wine and NFT gallery event. With the excitement for the event, our invite list grew bigger, jumping from 10 to 40 in the first day. We eventually had to hard-cap it at 70 to fit building code.
What’s Next:
The event inspired me to throw more workshops, gatherings, and meetups in Taipei. The demand for IRL events is obvious, with Taiwan being a safe(ish) zone, and interest for Web 3 catapulting, it makes sense to continue building that community here.
